My Fourth

If you were to close your eyes and think of the fourth of July what do you see? Are you an avid historian and see  a celebration for marking a monumental change in America's History, replete with a reenactment of the singing of the Declaration of Independence? Or are you a modern American socialite who just sees it as a chance to throw a party.Well, the fourth was on a Wednesday this year so that was draw back number one with everyone having to work the next day I'm sure plenty of events were cut short. Well for our Fourth, after I got off work my family and I went to over a friend's house where their aggressive breed dog viciously licked my daughter's face off. So much for Pitt bulls being scary, this was the friendliest dog I have ever met the thing got in the chair with her sat on her lap and liked her face till she stopped crying. At first she was terrified due to the fact she had been bitten by a neighbor's dog previously this year. Unfortunately for her, at eight years old was the perfect height for this huge eight week old puppy to lick her directly in the face. It probably weighed more than she did. The poor kid couldn't get a break, even the excitement of a six year old boy( her brother who is bigger than her) running around wasn't enough to distract this dog form licking this kid's face until all she could do was laugh. All in all we had a ball, until the fire works started then we played Norfolk's favorite game, if your from here you know what it is. Until next time, Happy Celebrations!

Journeys

Throughout the course of our lives we all set goals for ourselves, things we want to do before we die, time lines in our life that can be labeled as development. Finishing school, getting married, having kids, buying a house all things we all want to do some day, in what ever particular order we choose. One of my goals in life is to travel the world, not just say I did but to see if I could. I want to see first hand the different cultures, I want to experience the different festivals for my self, I want to compare the lives of others to mine in a cultural sense. Not to be judgmental, but to see the world from a different point of view. I want my children to experience the world as a whole not just be limited as to only what they grew up knowing and seeing. I want to take it one step at a time and enjoy the trip, staring with The United States and then the rest of the world. I want to grow as a person, to get to the point where when I am too old and tired to move I can sit on my porch and remember all that I have done, to end my life fulfilled, with no regrets as to what I could have done with my time.

ABOVE AND BEYOND

So, last entry I said to stay tuned on our CORE evaluation, we passed! Yay! Now we just have to keep on the right path because now they can pop up whenever they feel. The next week we got a health inspection, and a corporate visit, luckily for me they came on my day off, unluckily for me they signed me up for four re-certification classes due by August, that is not nice. I can do them no problem its just that I don't want to be stuck behind a computer any longer than I have to. I want to enjoy my summer. So, sad face, I just got a bit more to accomplish before I can go out and play.
